Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Fusemi L.L.C-FZ (“Fusemi”, “we”, “us”) for the Fusemi app and the fusemi.io website. Using Fusemi means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
Two other documents form part of this agreement: our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines.
What Fusemi is
Fusemi helps people find others nearby who want to do the same activity, and gives them a way to organise it. Members create and join activities, and message each other to sort out the details.
We are an introduction service, not an organiser. Activities on Fusemi are arranged by members, for members. We do not run them, supervise them, vet the people at them, or check that anyone is who they say they are beyond verifying their mobile number.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over. You may hold one account. You agree to give accurate information, keep it up to date, use your real name and a current photo of yourself, and not let anyone else use your account.
To sign up you give us a mobile number, which we verify with a one-time code, along with your name, date of birth, gender and a profile photo.
What you agree not to do
Do not use Fusemi to:
- Pretend to be someone else, use another person’s photos, or give false information about your age or identity
- Harass, threaten, or keep contacting someone who has made clear they are not interested
- Send sexual messages or images to people who have not asked for them, or share sexual content anywhere on the platform
- Discriminate against people on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Break the law, or organise activities that do
- Sell things, recruit for a business, promote investment schemes, or charge for an activity without saying so clearly up front
- Share other people’s private information, photos, or messages without permission
- Scrape the service, use bots or automation against it, try to break into it, or reverse engineer it
- Treat Fusemi as a dating app - it is for activities
Our Community Guidelines go into more detail on all of this. Breaking them breaks these terms.
Safety and your own risk
Meeting people you do not know carries risk, and physical activities carry risk of their own. You take both on yourself. Please meet in public the first time, tell someone where you are going, be honest about your ability, and leave if anything feels wrong.
We do not carry out background checks on members. Verifying a mobile number confirms that somebody controls that number - nothing more. It is not a check of identity, character, or criminal record, and you should not treat it as one.
If something happens, report it to us at [email protected] or in the app. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number first.
Moderation
We do not read your messages routinely and we do not screen members before they join. We do look at content and accounts when something is reported to us, when our systems flag possible abuse, or when the law requires it - and we may then remove content, restrict an account, or close it. There is an appeal route in the Community Guidelines.
Your content
Your photos and posts stay yours. You give us permission to host, store, copy, resize and display them for the purpose of running Fusemi and showing them to the people you intended to see them. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we are required to keep or that others have already received.
Everything else - the app, the site, our name and logo - belongs to us and may not be copied or used without written permission.
If you believe something on Fusemi infringes your copyright or trade mark, email [email protected] with a description of the work, where it appears, and how to reach you. We will look into it and remove anything infringing.
Premium subscriptions
Fusemi is free to use. Premium adds extra features and is available as a weekly or yearly subscription, sometimes with a free or reduced-price trial period.
The price, the billing period, and the terms of any trial are shown in the app before you pay, and they are what applies to your purchase. Prices vary by country and change from time to time. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. If a trial converts to a paid subscription, the app tells you the price and the date it starts before you begin the trial.
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. Cancel through your App Store or Google Play account settings - cancelling in Fusemi alone will not stop the billing. Refunds are handled by the store you bought through, under their policies. Nothing here affects refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer law where you live, including the 14-day right of withdrawal if you are in the UK or EU.
We may change prices. If we do, we will tell you first and the new price will only apply from your next renewal.
Hosting activities
Anyone can host. Hosting means you are the person organising a real-world activity, and you are responsible for it: describing it honestly, including anything about cost, difficulty or equipment; being there when you said you would; and telling people promptly if it changes or is cancelled.
Rewards. Hosts who build a community of 50 or more members receive Fusemi Premium free for life.
We also pay some hosts a cash reward when their community grows, for example when it brings a set number of people who are new to Fusemi. The amount, the conditions and how to claim are shown in the app while the offer is open to you. We may change or end an offer at any time, but a reward you have already earned under an offer will be paid. We pay rewards to the host’s own bank account or payment QR, and we may ask you to confirm you are the host before we pay. Each host can earn a cash reward for up to three communities.
Rewards are for genuine communities - fake members, self-signups and other gaming will cost you the reward and may cost you your account.
Hosting does not make you our employee, agent, or partner, and does not give you authority to act for us. If a reward becomes taxable where you live, that is between you and your tax authority.
Paying for activities
Some activities have a price, set by their host. Before you join, Fusemi shows the price and the ways the host accepts payment: a bank QR code, a payment link such as Revolut, Wise or PayPal, or cash at the door.
You pay the host directly. Fusemi is not a party to the payment. We do not collect, hold or pass on the money, we do not process cards, and we do not take a fee. If we ever start charging a fee, we will tell you before it applies.
The price, what it covers and whether you can get your money back are the host’s to decide and to state. Payments are non-refundable unless the host agrees otherwise. If an activity is cancelled or changes, ask the host - a refund is between you and them.
The “I’ve paid” button and the host’s paid tick are records to help the host keep track. They are not a receipt from us or proof that a payment went through.
If you charge as a host, you are responsible for stating the price before people join and keeping to it, for the payment details you add being your own, for giving people what you advertised, and for any tax on what you receive.
Bank and payment apps are run by other companies under their own terms. We are not responsible for them, or for a payment sent to the wrong place. If a price or a payment request is misleading, we may remove the activity or suspend the account, but we cannot reverse a payment.
Web RSVPs
Some activities can be joined from a web link without an account. Giving your name on that form means these terms and our Privacy Policy apply to you for that activity.
Ending your account
You can delete your account whenever you like, from the app or by emailing [email protected]. What happens to your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or the Community Guidelines, if we believe you are putting other members at risk, or if you have given us false information. Except where someone’s safety is at stake, we will tell you why and you can appeal.
What we promise, and what we don’t
We work to keep Fusemi running well, but we provide it as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or that you will meet anyone or enjoy an activity. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties.
We are not responsible for what other members do, on the platform or in person, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with them.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local law gives you and nothing here takes it away.
Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for everything else is limited to the greater of what you have paid us in the previous twelve months or 500 AED.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of something you did - content you posted, an activity you ran, how you treated another member, or your breach of these terms - you agree to cover our reasonable costs in dealing with it. This does not apply to consumers in jurisdictions where such a term is not enforceable.
Apps from the App Store
If you downloaded Fusemi from Apple’s App Store, the following also apply:
- This agreement is between you and Fusemi only. Apple is not a party to it.
- Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app, and no responsibility for any warranty claim, product liability claim, or claim that the app infringes someone’s intellectual property. Those are ours.
- You may use the app on any Apple device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and are not on any US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Changes to these terms
We will show you a notice in the app before any material change takes effect, and update the date below. If you keep using Fusemi after that, the new version applies. If you would rather not accept it, delete your account.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and disputes go to the courts of Dubai. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, that right is unaffected.
Before starting anything formal, please email [email protected] - or use any of the routes on our Support page - with what has gone wrong and what you would like done about it. We will reply within 30 days and most things are resolved that way.
The rest
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean we have given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours if the business is sold or merged. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These terms are written in English, and the English version governs if a translation differs.
